Food over IP

Food over IP is my online cooking journal  :-). What you will find here are primarily Indian recipes with a deviation in cuisine every now and then. You can be doubly sure that the "Chettinadu" recipes posted here are 100% authentic :). I have started baking very recently and you sure can come across a lot of my trials here.Anything that fancies me, catches my eye, I would give it a try and post it in this space if it turns out well :P. So all dishes that appear here are tried and tested by me.

The journey of cooking

I started my cooking expedition about roughly 3 years back. My first year was very normal, cooking safe recipes, with my mom over the phone telling me how to make them, right from differentiating the different types of dal, rice etc etc, like it happens for any new bride! :). So Mom is my first teacher and a million thanks to her. The second year I ventured outside my comfort zone and started exploring new ideas/recipes and there was a phase where all i wanted to do was cooking. So thats when the bug bit me and its been an uphill curve from then on with respect to cooking.

The turning point

I must say that the turning point for me was the TV show "Master chef Australia". I watched the second season of the show and it just blew me over. I was amazed and intrigued by how vast and endless this culinary world was :). It was about the same time, S - my hubby, who seeing my sudden spark of interest in cooking picked up the movie "Julie and Julia" which furthered my obsession to cook. If you haven't watched the movie, please do :). So that's probably when my desire to cook gorgeous-looking and absolutely delicious dishes started.

The birth of this blog

S seeing me cook some new recipe almost every other day created a sample blog for me to get started. You see i have starting trouble ;). Since i spend quite a considerable amount of time cooking,I decided that I might as well have a cooking journal with absolutely stunning pictures and it gives me something really fun to do and the important thing is that i am passionate about this.

Who am I

I am a full time working professional in the Computer Networking area employed with one of the leading companies in this space. My day-time job requires me to test the OS and the Layer 2 switch on which it runs. Ah,now you get the funda behind the blog name I see ;). Apart from my full time job that interests me quite a lot,I spend most of my spare time experimenting in my kitchen and reading about various stuff.
